I have had several subocs for several years now. I too live in Arizona and there is hardly ever any problems with humidity. I keep a good sized water bowl with each suboc constantly and have never had any problems with any of my subocs. Make sure you give them a good place to hide and plenty of ventilation. I house them in aquariums with pegboard lids. I do have one that is in a plastic shoebox container that has water in its cage and it has never had any problems either. Actually, I have to spray down the cages with water every so often because it is too dry. I have collected subocs in Texas and have noted the dry environment from where they come. You should do fine housing them as you would any other desert snake such as rosy boas or grey banded kingsnakes. For my rosy boas, I sometimes only give them water every 2 weeks and they are in PERFECT condition. I am sure the same would hold true for subocs.
