I believe i lost one due to high humidity. Ever since then, I place the water bowl in the cage for about two days, then take it out for the remainder of the week. I use the sweater box cage set-up and keep them on the top racks so it is a bit warmer than my other colubrids. I also keep the water out of the cage right after feeding. They are great snakes.
: I'm very interested in getting some Trans pecos rats and I was looking for husbandry advice or a great care sheet. I have heard very mixed views on keeping this species like, you must not give them water or they will die, I have also read that water can make them regurgitate? Any and all advice is appreciated.
