: Actually this mutation is not real new, I remember seeing them as far back as 1997 at the FIRS in Tampa. Gulf Coast Reptiles established the strain from a wild caught animal, I think from somewhere near or outside Fort Myers, Florida. The fading of dorsal color is present in both the whitesided black rats (they are white with greyish) and the glades.
Oh, thanks. I've seen the whitesided black rats but these slipped by me somehow lol!
