: has this snake ever eaten, before you got him/her?
He's a pet store snake [no comments, please...I trusted the owner and knew him a little before purchase] - the owner assures me he has eaten, but I doubt that strongly.
: It is quite possible that this animal hatched out not as strong as it could of been, or maybe has been subject to high amounts of stress and never really had a chance to master eating.
Well...he's always been thin. And he's kinked down the body a little - T.C. assured me that many baby obsoletas are born this way, and he would most likely grow out of it.
: I would probably recommend getting the help of someone in possession of a pinky pump, it will be a little easier on the snake than pushing a pink down its throat. Or you may want to try mouse tails, not really nutritous but it is at least something to put food in his/her system.
I have tried mouse tails. That's why I absolutely have to switch to pinkies...the tails were giving him almost no nutrition...and he was getting SO thin.
Fortunately, the pinky bits went down. Update as to whether or not they stayed down in a couple of days. [I'll be feeding him every three days.]
Any ideas to get him off force-feeding and onto pinkies, on his own?
[by the way, no access to a pinky pump, and they're rather expensive. :( ]
