...that kinda says it all, doesn't it?
Well, maybe I'll flesh it out a bit. My hatchling E.o.o went blue for the first time a week or so ago; I tried to raise humidity as best I could, but it stayed around 30% the whole time, as far as I can tell...[or my hygrometer is broken...]
Now, my kingsnake sheds under these conditions [very DRY summer...rrr] perfectly every time - well, now I know that my rat snake won't. He managed to get the head off perfectly [and shreds and bits of the rest of it] but by and large, it is STUCK. I've been soaking him periodically [he HATES that....he goes ballistic...more furious at that than anything else I've had to do to him, including force-feeding and...] and I managed to get his ventral scales, down to just a couple past the vent, off with my fingernail. I figured the rest would probably scrape off as he moves around...
But the tail scales are NOT coming off, and I'm afraid of hurting him.
What should I do? Keep soaking him and hope? Take another hour to gently remove the ventral tail scales with my pinky nail?
TIA,
Nyx
[and Philip, who is starting to make me wonder...]
