I recently purchased three pairs of mandarine ratsnakes. I saw a few posts indicating that hatchling and juvenile mandarine ratsnakes should only be fed every 10 days to avoid fat buildup in the liver which leads to the seemingly unwarrented death of healthy animals. ........... Then, I read a post which shows stats on a number of Mandarine ratsnakes which were successfully bred at two years. Obviously, these animals were fed more than once every ten days to reach sexual maturity in two years. I have two questions. First, has anyone else had problems feeding juvenile mandarines more than once every ten days, and second, could it be that the diet of the mice being fed to the snakes that had problems was the culprit. Do you breed your own mice and know the diet, or do you buy frozen mice from a commercial breeder. Thanks....... Steve
