Someone PLEASE show or tell me the difference between E.Janseni and Goynosoma. Anyone who has had the luxury of being involved w/both "species" would have to be as curious as am I. Mikko, I beg to differ - though I am by no means a Taxonomist/Biologist, they are eerily similar. Though I have not descended to counting labial scales etc., the well known distribution and color variety of the Goynosoma ssp, coupled w/the more than obvious similarities between the two - leads me for one to be extremely suspicious. I have been breeding Goynosomas to what will soon be the F3 generation - and all the "Janseni" I've seen appear (at least on the surface) to be the same snake. I know I'm way out on a limb here but w/ more than 5 different color phases of Goynosoma currently documented (w/Greens being the most commonly exported)and being that they are such a widely_distributed snake whos to say?? Obviously someone more taxonomically educated than me. All I know is that "Janseni" command a much higher price than do wc Goynosomas. Temperments, habitats, and needs are all exactly the same. Until I read otherwise, is a melanistic Cal King an entirely different ssp. than a typically banded Cal King? I'm not professing to be knowledgeable enough to make that determination - but my eyes work just fine and I, for one, am leery. Bill
