Red rats are corn snakes. Don't let peoples common referral names fool you, as well as wacky cultivar names. To find different subspecies you will have to go to Carolina's, Florida Keys(was recognized as rosacea), and then Great Plains (emoryi).
Yes, greenish rats are obsoleta X qudrivittata these are in overlapping areas of the two ssp ranges. I caught, photographed, and released about 7 of these a couple months ago. Will post pics.

: "red rat snakes"....are they just a recognized "sub species" of guttata...or are they a color phase of a corn snake?...."Greenish rat snakes"..is a cross between the yellow rat and the black rat....or is it also a definable subspecies of obsoleta?...thanx in advance.......
