When people repeatedly see something at a low price, that was the case with the flavs. They were posted time, after time, after time due to the sellers sex ratio. People start to assume that's the price they should expect to pay. Think about this, if you wanted a new washer and dryer and the set you wanted was $900 but then you saw them on sale for say $450 at Sears. Would you be willing to pay the extra $450 for them at BestBuy? Of course you wouldn't, because you know they could be sold for less.
Such is the case with the E. porphyracea. I would never pay over $750 each for them. Why, because I know they can be found at that price. So what if the seller was only selling lone males for that price, if you wanna move something cheap but you don't want to drive down the price kingsnake.com is not the place to post it. The flavs were just a case of so few people selling them and so many people seeing those posts.
I know you're thinking that's just not true. But, as I said, I've never heard of anybody selling flavs for less then $175 and they sold fairly well. If you think I'm wrong I would love to send you what I produce this year and you're welcome to give selling them at the old price a try.
Maybe I'm just a little bitter here Sacha. I spent a good deal of money on flavs about a month before the price dropped. I don't really mind to be honest, I breed snakes so people can buy them and when the price drops buy 50% there are 50% more people that can afford them. That's fine by me, they're great snakes and I'd like to see them become more common. And of course with that the price will drop even more. That will always be the case with snakes though, one day everybody who want's one will have it.
Thanks Sacha,
Adam Block
PS I can't wait for Daytona!
