I have a 5' Taiwan Beauty snake that I have had for 1 1/2 years. He has always been very easy to handle, with no aggession. As of a couple of weeks ago, he has begun to bite. He does not strike, but acts like he wants to eat. While handling him, he will move his head toward my hand or finger or wrist, and just open his mouth to begin "eating" me. He got me the first couple of times, but now I am looking for this activity and stopping him from making the grab. I am feeding him two large mice once a week. Is it possible that he is simply hungry or has he made some kind of personality change?
He was my one snake that I would let kids or anyone handle. I hope this isn't a permanent switch.
Would appreciate any feedback.
