: I have two clutches of climacophora and either they are all female or these guys just don't pop! Is there a trick to popping climacophora? Also, are hatchlings finicky eaters? Mine just shed earlier this week and several gulped down frozen pinkies right away. The others aren't interested in either frozen or live, but its only been a few days so I'm not even close to worried yet... just curious.
Hello Ronda
They can be difficult to pop, try to get the animal further down the tail, several asians pop easier by working bellow the mid-point line of the tail, also once they start feeding and get alittle size to them you'll even start noticing a difference in the tail structure itself.
I just wait kunisars out as far as feeding. I've had them go as long as 5months before feeding. The last holdouts i had took what i thought was way over sized rat pinks after 5 months. Some hit quick and others drive you nuts.
congratulations
