hatchling climacophora questions

I have two clutches of climacophora and either they are all female or these guys just don't pop! Is there a trick to popping climacophora? Also, are hatchlings finicky eaters? Mine just shed earlier this week and several gulped down frozen pinkies right away. The others aren't interested in either frozen or live, but its only been a few days so I'm not even close to worried yet... just curious.
