Thanks! Actually, that's scalaris eggs, the sauromates haven't bred this year, they're staying in opposite corners of the tank. I do have a much better year than I have had in a long time though. That is probably the result of this excellent hibernation setup I (and Walt, give credit where credit is due) came up with.
I am also expecting E. situla eggs and another unrelated clutch of E. scalaris eggs any day now. I even felt some eggs in my bimaculata, but it may be a while before she lays.
That would be a great idea to go out herping with you. I would very much enjoy that. I just found a gravid female Dekay's Snake (Storeria dekayi wrightorum) in my backyard a couple of weeks ago that I photographed and released (attached photo). I also attached a couple of pics of my first Mojave Rattler (Crotalus s. scutulatus). I will post the rest of the photos in the Field Collecting Forum once I have them developed.
