I posted this question on the corn forum but got no response. Any thoughts?Do striped corns usually have markings on the head?
How was the striped pattern developed? The four stripes on most seem suspeciously similar to the stripes on yellow and everglades ratsnakes.
I ask because my local petshop has a striped corn for sale which looks very much like a very orange everglades rat. There are no markings of any kind on the head, the eyes seem more promenent and the head more distinct from the neck. Could this be a hybrid? Really pretty everglades? Or does that sound like a run of the mill striped corn?
