You most likely dont have too much of a problem...
The first thing you should do is to soak the critter. Put him in a gallon jar or a shoebox
with about as much tepid water in it as he is thick. You dont want it so deep that he has
to swim to stay above it, he should be able to sit on the bottom and easily lift his head
above the water. Let him soak for a while (like a few hours) and he may well soak off the
dried skin. If he doesnt crumple up several squares of paper towels and drop them
in with him so he can crawl thru them and leave him some more. If this doesnt work
you can probably take him out and easily remove the now softened unshed skin. You will have to be
watchful around the eyes to make sure the eye caps came off. If not they can usually ge gently
lifted off but be sure that you arnt trying to lift off an attached one!
