Hi Tom,
I have had problems in the past with my rats shedding in pieces. What I would do is mist them twice a day starting a couple days before thier blue phase and it corrected the problem. I puchased a one gallon sprayer from a home center and use purified water and it seems to work great. It delivers plenty of water. You can try soaking them in warm water for 10 minutes or so and then a damp wash cloth run over the body will usally remove it. There are also products on the market to help with shedding. Be sure the eye caps are shed or you may encounter major problems.
