if the under tank heater is actually heating the snake above this....??may be too hot?
(put thermometer right on the heated spot.)

as for bad sheds....you may want to go to some sort of substrate that is damper...at least during the winter months?
(cypress,,...??...Clint Boyer uses peat moss)
