: I just got an Asian Ratsnake a few days ago. He's just a little guy yet, so I don't think he's very old. He's very aggressive, and he always tries to bite me. Does anyone have any advice for me on any way to tame my snake? I don't want to end up with a 5 foot snake untamed, so any advice at all would be helpful. Please email me with any suggestions.
Good idea, since some "Asian" ratsnakes get a little bigger.. My Taiwan Beauty (Elaphe Tainura freisei) is 8 ft- 8" long and weighs a little under 6 lbs. Still handle-able though, because he was picked up several times a day for over 4 years, nippy or not. He stopped biting after 6 months (thank goodness!)
