Trans-pecos - shedding, humidity...

If transpecos are from desert type terrain, when they are shedding, should we raise the humidity? What is their recommended humidity level? My baby just shed this morning, but she left part of her tail shed on, so we had to go with the wet paper towel route. Suggestions, anyone?
