That all makes for interesting reading but it all comes down to the fact that it cannot be proven either way.

I don't know sacha korrel from a squirrel in the back yard but I do remember seeing those leucistic "grey rats" at the herp expo in Brimingham that "some guy" had found in the wild. I'm sure he's a helluva guy but just "Sacha says so" doesn't make it so. They were in Terry Huering's possession at the time of the show when I saw them, surely they're the same snakes. If not, leucistic spiloides are sure popping up all over Alabama, kinda makes you wonder. It all comes back to how much you can trust or dirtrust the person who claims to have found them in the wild.

I remember seeing those black rats at the Indy show that were supposed to be luecistics at least I think it was Indy. It was a similar story, some guy claimed to have found them in the wild. The same applies there. The bottom line is noone can prove that they are what they're claiming and I feel very sorry for the person who spends the extra money to have one.

All that being said, go get you a leucistic TX rat and suck it up. They tame easily enough with even a small amount of effort. An animals value can often have little to do with its price tag.

Happy Herping,

Tom
