The Completely Illustrated Atlas of Reptiles and Amphibians (Obst, Richter, Jacob 1984). The Coborn reference you mentioned is another. I should also add that E.situla is not the only Elaphe species where the juveniles are primarily lizard eaters. I think the importance of getting this snake to eat far outweighs the chance of parasite transmittal from a feeder lizard. I stand by my recommendation.
