In Reply to: Is it worth purchasing WC Mandarins? posted by mike on August 05, 1999 at 17:05:32:
I have never kept manderins but I do have a friend that purchased a trio of wild caughts because they were so cheap. One female died about 3 months later. The remaining pair was loaded with bugs and the vet bills started to add up. They do not like to eat. They have never shown any sign of breeding what so ever, And in my opinion they never will. I have also heard lots of stories from others that are very similar to this. If you are only looking for a pet maybe its a good idea. If you want to breed them and work with them in that manner i would pay the extra few hundred bucks and get the captive bred animals
