By the way, I wouldn't expect either fleas or alcohol or ether to be harmful to the snakes. The latter two will dissipate into the air if the rodents are allowed to sit at room temperature for an hour or two before feeding.
: Purchased some small feeder rats today for my Pacific Gopher. When I unthawed the buggers, they gave off a very alcohol smell. Several questions.... is this common? What if any harm may come to the snake if I feed him these? and lastly, the rats had megga fleas right along with them. Does anyone see a problem with flea infested rats transmitting disease to the snakes?
