Geographic Range of Emory's Rats

I have been herping missouri for about 11 years and have never found a an emory's rat until last weekend. Can someone tell me what their goegraphic range is? I live Smack-dab in the middle of Missouri about 35 miles north of arkansas. I have NEVER found one until now and am curious as to how common they are. I Always thought they were more of a westwardly species. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you, David
