: : A few times a year, I have to clean out my spring. I don't care for comeing eyeball to eyeball with 6 to 8 foot snakes. How can I keep them out for a couple of hours while I clean my spring so I can have a clean water supply? I let them have the run of the farm the rest of the time, as I want to keep the rodent population down. Some are even named-Sssneaky, Sssshorty, (only a 5 footer), SSSlither, an 8-foot beauty(last year, I haven't seen him this year just yet). Thanx, snake-type dudes!
: HI Farmer I'm glad to hear you keep them around for rodent control. The main reason they are in the spiing house is probably related to food or water. The best way to keep them out is to fill all the cracks so they can't enter.Buddy.
I should have described the spring house. 8 by 8 block building with a tin roof and wood ceiling. I think they like the warm temps in the roof, and the cool temps inside. They can move a little ways and be whatever temp they want. They can get inside the block walls, too. I can't seal the cracks up, the wasps in the roof will get me. I just want to keep the snakes out for about two hours or so, with no toxins. I was hoping a student of snake knowledge could tell me how to deter them for a while. Would a radio, set up on the roof, scare them out for a while?
