: : Okay. So emoryi is now considered a full fledged species...
: Just because it is considered so, it doesn't MAKE it so.
: : Does that make Kisatchie Corns a hybrid? Or perhaps just a local variant of E.emoryi or E.g.guttata? TIA.
: All three of those theories have been proposed. You can look to my page (www.kingsnake.com/kj/corns.html) for more info. Follow the link there for a more indepth discussion of the theories. You'll find MY idea on the matter based on all available data to me -- and I have a bonus over the taxonomists: i don't need to say something different "just to get that paper published." LOL.
: Feel free to ask any more questions that seem to be skipped at either of those places.
KJ,
I checked out the info you pointed me to. I'm leaning toward listing the Kisatchie Corns as the result of a "probable intergrade". Do you know if anyone is doing any DNA analysis on these guys? I know it's expensive and time consuming, but heck, there should be a grant in it somewhere! :)
Thanks again!
---Mick
