In Reply to: Thinking of getting Leucistic Ratsnake...please read/advise posted by JAMES on May 10, 2000 at 12:31:45:
I have an adult trio of these and they are rather large Mine are about 5' However I have caught texas rats around my area (dallas) that are often 6-7 feet. I am outcrossing my male to a few 61/2' wild caught females to make very large leucistics. Anyway to answer your question they are a bit mean as youngsters, However with handling they become very tame. Mine are like huge cornsnakes. At the same time they do seem to go wild on me if I dont handle them at least once a week. In the long run I love them. Large stark white blue eyed rat snakes are just awesome I just want to produce a 7 footer. I say go for it

if at all possible: I have a Ball Python and a White Lipped Python, I would be getting a baby LRS for $60.
: i was wondering if they are cool pets? I notice most are very snappy as youngsters, do they tame down nicely? Whats the min and max they can get as far as size? Any info would be appreciated.
: thanx!!
