Good luck with the black longissima eggs too, Soe. Glad to hear you had some success there. We had a tough year for hibernation also. It was too warm, and many snakes did not stay cool enough, so did not have long enough hibernation, or were too warm. Sometimes snakes do not want to mate under these conditions, or maybe the male could have no potent sperm. This time the female Persian did not want to. Maybe she just thought it was a bad year to try.
I also had a Dion's ratsnake that would not mate and ended up reabsorbing her eggs. Have you ever heard of Dion's ratsnakes mating only every other year?
