radiated rat eggs what is going on (help)

My radiated is gravid and shed on monday. Whel about 3 hours after her shed she laid a single egg on the fllor of the cage. I originally thought it was a good egg but after 3-days it is starting to look "oily" and bad. Well this morning only 3-days after the shed she laid another single egg on the floor. Why she is not at least laying them in the nest box is beond me. Any way this egg at least hardened like a good egg and evan swelled up.
But the real question is why is she doing this? I have been breeding colubrids for a few years now and have never seen anything like this. And on top of it all she still looks very gravid. Any advice on this situation is very much appreciated
