...Have you heard about K. D. Schulz' book, "Monograph of the Colubrid Snakes of the Genus Elaphe"? If you want it all, you'll cough up about $150 for this gem. It's the most up to date book on all the Elaphe, especially the Asians.
Also, there was an article on blue beauties a while back in the now defunct "Vivarium" mag. These aren't the same subspecies, but are quite similar to the Taiwans.
For more specific info, I'd seek out a breeder, or personal authority, like Mike H., who has a site and breeds these guys. I maintain Chinese stripe-tails, E. t. taeniura, but not Taiwans. Even so, I know there's a lot of info about E. taeniura, in general. There's too much to post in one posting. Try asking a more specific question, or naming a subject area. For example: "What are the food requirements of Taiwan beauties?"
They can be started on small mice, but probably would take nestling birds and their eggs, too. Soon they graduate to larger mice and small rats. By the end of a year, they'll probably be large enough that you'll have a hard time feeding them. I had a pair a long time ago that reached four feet in a hurry, little over a year, I think. I didn't have rats, so I'd feed them, like three or four adult mice at a time. Be careful too, because they might take your hand off when you're sticking the food in. One trick is to put the food in a container and put the container in, or take the snake out and put it in the separate container with the food. They are voracious feeders.
See what I mean. You can talk all day on one little area. Sorry if I got long winded again. I try to keep it down a little. Terry/Ratsnake Haven.
