This particular pair double clutched for me last year with very low hatch rates. First clutch was 1 for 7 and the second was 2 for 10. The first clutch was incubated at 81.5 and they hatched at day 67. The second was at 82.0 and hatched at day 62. I checked all that failed to hatch and all except one was infertile. This pair was young, not cooled and all this happened by accident.
Now things were done deliberately and 10 eggs are due by the end of next week(I can count them as she glides through my hands). Do these temps. sound right for these guys? I also wanted some feedback regarding infertile eggs, is it normal to have such low hatch rates for this species or is it just my particular pair, their age, etc? How about the frequency of double clutching occuring? I would just like to correct any mistakes I am making if you see any. Thanks in advance for your time. Dan
