Hello,
Texas rat snakes are a little different from the black ratsnake. Their latin name is Elaphe obsoleta lindheimeri, whereas the black ratsnake's is Elaphe obsoleta obsoleta. The Texas ratsnakes are also generally more agressive than a black ratsnake. You will be able to tell if the snake is leucistic because they will be snow white with blue-black eyes. Check the picture out above...it is a leucistic Texas ratsnake. If you have anymore questions, just post them here.
