This isn't a trick question is it? They're from Taiwan. This is a large island off the s.e. coast of China. The tropic of Cancer runs through the middle of it. This is a temperate subspecies and the island has a cool period during the winter, at which time they hibernate. Taiwan is mountainous also which helps to moderate its subtropical climate. I believe they are found throughout the island, including montane habitats. You can find climate info and maps on the internet, also. Good luck. TC.
