I just grab them anyways. One day they should calm down, but I've been saying that for the last three years about my mex black king. The best thing to do, I think, is not be a wuss and just grab them. Not like a predator grabbing food, but picking up their body and supporting them. Acting afraid just freaks them out more, I feel, so it's best to act confident even if you've got blood running down the side of your hand/face/whatever (got some nasty snakes, can you tell?)
