Thanks for your advice! I put one of the mites under the microscope -- yuck! I tried to check over my other snakes, but these mites are SO tiny and light in color that I can only see them on dark colored snakes, or on dark eyes.
Regarding treatment, I have only used pest strips once before, but I was treating large boas. I'm assuming Asian Elaphe and hatchling snakes cannot tolerate the vapona for the same length of time that my large boas could. Do you have a recommended length of treatment? Do I need to repeat the treatment in two weeks?
I was relieved to hear that your snakes were not harmed by the vapona -- I had heard previously that it affects their nervous system more quickly that with other snakes.
