: (I wonder if they are related to our MI hillbillies, lol.)

Haahaa.

:(I just have one Brazos Is. rat.)

I think Soderberg is working with them now, too. Neat how they compare to his reverse striped meahllmorums even though they are unrelated.

:[Ya, but East TX ain't meahllmorum, is it? Tell me more about those silver and black meahllmorum. They sound very interesting.]

No, East Texas has the "slowenskii" corns, or what "real" people call Kisatchie corns!

:[That's a nice snake, KJ. Is that an example of the silver and black ones?]

Thanks. It is what I refer to as silver and black. Actually, they are black blotched (as in not brown blotched at all, but many snakes are darker blotched than others - it is still black, though) with a light grey, or light silver, background. I'm not too good with colors and call things as I see it; that's why I like to post pics so you can see it for yourself.

The picture in this image looks exactly like the emoryi we get from the same locality as the one I posted yesterday. However, it had no local associated with it. When they split the emoryi into 2 different subspecies, I got rid of all of the emoryi I had without locality. This guy keyed out as a meahhllmorum. I'd bet he was from the same south Texas area, but I could never have been positive.

: [Thanks for the info. I don't know if I'll ever get hold of anything like that, but it looks like it could produce some great work.

He's going to a female meahllmorum that looks nowhere as nice as he does. However, she produced 18 eggs for me the only year I bred her. For emoryi, that's a monster clutch. (She's a big female, too.) I want to get some female hatchlings off of her (even if they are generics) to see what her babies do in the body and clutch size department.

: PS: I talked to TP

Hey, that's your fault. Don't blame me if you get stucking with that guy! LOL.

: about meahllmorum in your area a little last night. I've got a feeling there's some really nice snakes over there including the Brazos Is. ones.

Well, they are still in Texas, but they are 6 hours away from me. The Brazos Rats would be even further away than that. I plan to make it out that way at least thrice this year. In all honesty, I'll be happy to make it there twice, though!

: I'm crossing one with one of my corns to see what kind of creamsicles they make this spring, but maybe I should make a pure line of meahllmorum. Great characteristics :)

I'll always vote for a pure one over another hybrid mutt, but I'm sure that surprises NOBODY....lol. :)

KJ
