I have a pair of Trans-Pecos rats that I house just like a corn or rat snake. I have heard varying opinons on how these snakes should be housed. I have mine on aspen bedding with hide spots on the cool and warm ends of the cage. I use undertank heating pads and every now and then a small light for decoration. I provide water for them 24/7 and mine 2 snakes always drink after they eat. However, some people only provide water once a week for these snakes and they use smaller cages so these snakes do not get stressed.
