I'm not much of an expert on lyres. I've never bred them before. But I do think they come out of hibernation around the end of March, however. They probably just aren't ready for activity, yet. I would say you're in good shape by waiting til next shed, or just keeping them together all the time. I haven't heard of them ever being canabalistic.
We aren't keeping any right now, btw. Just anticipating the day we move to AZ and start looking :) Good luck. TC.
