I own 1.1 Ridleyi and have found the male to be much more tolerant of handling. At times he has struck when being removed for cleaning and after being placed back in his enclosure with no hands on him. Usually once in hand he realizes that he is in no danger and is fine. The female on the other hand is just plain NASTY! She will not tolerate handling for any reason. Hissing, striking and puffing up her neck at even the sight of humans. I purchased this pair from Prairieland Herpetoculture and noticed the same behavior in an adult pair they had with the male being the more docile of the pair. If you are looking a snake to handle this is not the one.
