I'm considering getting a cave-dwelling rat snake (E. t. ridleyi) and was hoping someone could tell me if they are snakes that can be handled easily or if they even should be handled. I've heard from different sources that they can be nasty and should be only a display animal and on the other hand that they are calm and don't mind handling. I'd like to know what to expect from those of you who have first hand experince with this species. So far I've only had cornsnakes, so overall I'm expecting to end up with a more fiesty animal, but just how many scars I can expect on my arms would be nice to know before hand. LOL!
