Hi, nightflight.
I have a adult three year old pair. The male is really qiute, but the female is a bit of a handfull.
What I have found works here for me is to work slow and easy around it and to gently take hold of somwhere midline, and gently hoist it out of the cage.I have begun to handle her once a day
for about twenty minutes. She was abit fast at first and I had trouble actually keeping hold of her and as she is seven feet long thats a lot of moving snake! You have to be fairly deliberate with your handling.Already she is calming down,
and is not quite to jumpy.I also do this when Iam on my own,so as not to put her on the defensive.
As I only keep ratsnakes this problem is not uncommon, especially when they are young. But
perservere with it.You may even get bitten once or twice, but you must not let it get the better of you.Taiwans can be a bit nippy, but it will reduce with handling.
