Thats interesting. That might also help explain why a larger than expected number of aberrantly colored obseleta's turn up in this area. You might recall my friend KE posting some pics last summer of some of the unusually colored obseleta's from this area that he works with. One specimen in particular lacks almost all black pigment, but has plenty of red and orange on it.
