A white, leucistic form of the Japanese Rat is being farmed near Iwakuni. This is to keep this mutation going, as it's considered a national treasure and is closely protected. I don't think one of these has ever entered the U. S., although it should be outcrossed, as there is believed to be some serious inbreeding going on in the small population.
