Your right, that is one LARGE Tx rat! When you get him post some pics I would love to see that beast. Do you know where he was collected?
How wide is the tank you are building, it is more important than the hieght which could be considerably lower than 3 1/2 feet unless you want to give him some climbing room.
:i have a 7 foot WC texas rat snake on the way and i was just wondering if a 4 foot long by 3 1/2 high enclosure would be suitable for him. I intend to build the aquiarium my self and i was wondering what the best and cheapest materials are and how i would go about making one for him
