Wow, thats really cool. As far as I understand it, Texas Bairdi and Mexican Bairdi are the same subspecies, just different locales, is that correct? That is awesome to have such a variety of top bloodlines in your collection. Hopefully some day I will add a few more to mine as well. I heard Vivid Reptiles produces very nice Bairds, and I also have heard about H.I.S.S. Maybe next year! Thanks,
Paul
:I agree with you on the Bairdi. One of the top North American rat snakes. IMHO. In addition to Adam Block's Texas Bairdi bloodline, I have to unrelated pairs of Mexican Bairdi that I picked up this year. Both of those bloodlines came from Steve and Kelli Hammock at H.I.S.S. The founding breeders of one bloodline were originally collected by Steve on a permit back in 1985 in the Linares Canyon area of Nuevo Leon. The unrelated bloodline came via Steve and Kelli after obtaining them from Alan Kardon. There is also a natural integration zone in Texas where Bairdi and Texas rat snakes cross breed. Yes, Bairdi are one of my favorite New World rat snakes. Watch as your Bairdi grow and shed. They will begin losing their saddles and start showing all kinds of oranges and a few other colors.
