Chris,
I appreciate the input. Colubrids never really attracted my eye throughout the years. Some are bright and colorful, but they lack a certain "charisma" to their personality. My basement is full of wall to wall Amethystine pythons(Moluccans, Arus, Southern New Guineas, BarNecks, etc.).
I have always loved big pissed off tree snakes and am accustomed to dealing with imported animals, so naturally, Elaphe(Gonyosoma) jenseni; both phases; and Spilotes pullatus(sp?) were the few colubrids that actually grabbed my attention. The threat display and slowly flicking 180 degree tongue did me in.
I picked up 2.3 of the E. jenseni today from a dealer. All are in good weight with no scars. They all have yellowish-tan anterior leading into a slick jet black posterior. The black begins with slightly slanted banding in the middle of the body which just looks amazing.
All in all, I am happy with the group and after 90 days in "detox" and 3 fecals, they will be set up into arboreal Vision cages.
Thanks for your time,
SRX
