Greetings to ratsnake lovers everywhere.
I just purchased a Taiwan Beauty Snake female "sight unseen", and received a healthy snake that didn't match others I have in yellow color intensity. This 4' 7" snake is more drab olive/grey in color, and suggests some Blue Beauty Snake influence.
The seller has graciously offered to refund my cost and shipping, but before I take him up on it, I am wondering if there is a possibility that this is indeed a pure "taiwan"- if just a rather drab one. In other words, how much color variation might one expect in a true E.t. friesi? What signs should I look for to distinguish between pure friesi and a subspecies hybrid? Could this animal simply improve in color with size and age?
It would be a whole lot easier just to keep the animal, but I feel it wasn't properly represented if it isn't reasonably pure. Thanks in advance, as your help will determine whether I end up keeping it or sending it back.
