I've one book about Costa Rica; one book about Guatemala; one book about Guyana: in no one of these books there's a picture of a Spilotes with the colors of yours.
I've read (perhaps in this forum) that your color comes from the south of the range of Spilotes.
I really don't know: from Mexico to Argentina is a long way !
And then there is also a great individual variability, and it can really be that the pattern and the color vary from one place to another of the SAME country !
But another question is interesting: the body form of the Spilotes !
There are animals that are only slightly triangular in shape, and the body section is not very different from the one of for example Elaphe;
there are animals that are really triangular in shape, and in these animals you can feel distinctly the vertebral backbone;
there are animals that are really "ribbon like", with the vertebral back-bone very prominent, as they were undernourished (but they are normal fed !!!).
Come these animals from different areas or different latitudes ?
I really don't know !
