Some snakes will certainly go off feed this time of year. This may vary depending upon the exact conditions you have him in. What kind of heating do you have? My book on ratsnakes suggests that if you get a wild fox snake you should "Try to acquire your speciman in the spring, when they are more apt to feed." I am no authority on the matter, but as this is the only one of the rats in the book that these authors make this statement about, I wonder if it might be a particular problem with fox snakes, especially w/c. Good luck with him/her. I think that the fox snakes are beautiful and have seriously thought of getting one. Duffy
::If it has over 35 black blotches it's a western. Don't count the blotches on the tail, though! The heads are patternless and are usually sort of copper colored, more so on the easterns. Mine's a Western and has a copper head, though. How long hasn't it been feeding?
:::Anyone know a good website on this snake? I need the marking count to know if it's east or western. also, it was eating f/t & live pinks and just stopped. This is the first one I've ever owned. Also, this snakes head is patternless,it's like a light purple. Is this normal? thanks in advance for any info. David
