Snakes only put as much effort into eating as they have to. With harmless prey like pinkies, snakes will often just swallow them alive. Also, they usually don't constrict prekilled prey of any size. Of course, this can vary among snakes, some will aggressively constrict everything and I have one ratsnake who just bites her prey into submission and then swallows it.
So, yes, the snake's ok!
